Explore Hakone on a private 2-day, 1-night experience combining a customized guided tour on Day 1, an overnight stay at a traditional Japanese ryokan, and independent sightseeing on Day 2.

Your English-speaking guide will help shape the first day around your interests, with possible visits to scenic, cultural, and historic locations across Hakone. After your guided sightseeing, check in to your ryokan for an onsen stay, dinner, and breakfast before exploring Hakone independently the following day.

DAY 1

Private Guided Tour in Hakone

Travel to Hakone and spend the day exploring with your private English-speaking guide. The itinerary can be adjusted around your interests, weather, traffic, seasonal conditions, and local operating schedules.

The exact meeting time and location will be confirmed after booking. Day 1 tour duration includes travel time between Tokyo and Hakone for From Tokyo options.

OVERNIGHT

Traditional Japanese Ryokan Stay

After your guided sightseeing, check in to a traditional Japanese ryokan with tatami-mat rooms and futon bedding. The standard accommodation included in the tour is a 3-star ryokan.

Your stay includes onsen access, dinner on the first night, and breakfast the following morning. Dinner preferences can be selected in advance from a Japanese set meal, beef shabu-shabu set, or Odawara-style local set meal. Menus use seasonal ingredients and may vary.

DAY 2

Self-Guided Exploration

No tour guide is included on Day 2. Explore Hakone independently using the included Hakone Free Pass, which covers standard public transportation within Hakone, before returning to Tokyo at your own pace.

A valid passport is required on the tour day for transportation.

Ryokan Accommodation

The standard accommodation is a 3-star traditional Japanese ryokan with tatami-mat rooms and futon bedding.

Is a guide included on both days?

No. A private English-speaking guide is included on Day 1 only. Day 2 is self-guided, and guests explore Hakone independently using the included Hakone Free Pass.

How does the room at the ryokan work if I have children?

Children stay in the same room as the adults. Ryokan rooms are typically arranged with futon bedding on tatami mats. If you require additional futons or specific bedding arrangements, please let us know in advance.

Is smoking allowed at the ryokan?

All guest rooms are non-smoking. Designated outdoor smoking areas are available for guests who wish to smoke.

How far in advance should I book?
